Students plan a 5 day journey through their own country. They carry out background research using the internet and other information sources to plan their journey. Students must complete the journey planner document to plan trip providing all the necessary information.
Students plan a 5 day journey incorporating visits to some of the points of interest listed below. Students must find out at least two key facts about each of the location e.g. population of a city, cost of entry to a tourist landmark etc.
Places which must be visited:
- an industrial city
- a park
- a holiday destination
- a tourist landmark
- a place of worship
- a river
- a sporting venue
- the capital city
Each group of students will complete the table with their planned journey. Leave gaps in the text so that your partner school will have to use website links and the audio files (see next stage) to complete the missing information in the table.
Students will create audio files to narrate their journey. This narration will help students in partner school to complete the missing information in the journey planning table completed in the previous stage.
In this final stage, students use both images and digital sound recording to create a completed audio-visual journey. The students in the UK will find the images and use the audio file from the school in Germany to create a Powerpoint presentation and vice versa.
